FuelSaver UK
FuelSaver UK helps you find cheap fuel and EV charging nearby. Your personal data is never collected, tracked, or sold. Your location stays on your device.
FuelSaver UK is built with Apple's native frameworks only. No third-party SDKs, no analytics, no advertising. Here's exactly how your data is handled.
Your GPS coordinates are used only on-device to calculate distances to nearby stations and to centre the map. They are never transmitted to our servers. In production builds, coordinates are redacted from all logs (GDPR/CCPA compliant).
Price data is fetched from the UK Government Fuel Finder service, operated by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). Your device downloads the data directly β no intermediary server is involved.
Charging station data comes from Open Charge Map, a global open-source database. Your approximate area coordinates are sent to the Open Charge Map API to find nearby chargers. No personal identifiers are included.
Optional tips are processed entirely by Apple's StoreKit. FuelSaver UK never sees your payment details, Apple ID, or any financial information. Purchases are consumable and not linked to your identity.
All data displayed in the app comes from trusted, publicly available sources.
Fuel prices are provided by the UK Government Fuel Finder service, operated by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). The data is updated twice a day and covers thousands of fuel stations across the UK. EV charging data is provided by the Open Charge Map community.

Unlike many apps, FuelSaver UK does not operate its own backend servers. The app connects directly to the following public data sources:
A centralised government service operated by DESNZ. The app downloads a single CSV file containing all fuel station prices and locations. No personal data is included in the request.
A community-maintained open-source API for EV charging locations. Requests include approximate area coordinates and return nearby charging points. An API key is used for rate limiting β no user data is sent.
In-app Tip Jar purchases are processed by Apple's servers. FuelSaver UK has no access to your payment method, Apple ID, or transaction details beyond a purchase confirmation.
Map tiles and rendering are provided by Apple's MapKit framework. Apple's own privacy policy governs map data. FuelSaver UK does not add any tracking on top.
FuelSaver UK requests "When In Use" location permission to find nearby fuel stations and EV chargers. Here's exactly how your location is handled:
Your GPS coordinates are processed entirely on-device. They are used to calculate distances, centre the map, and determine which stations are nearby. Your coordinates are never transmitted to our servers because we don't operate any.
When fetching EV charging data, approximate area coordinates are sent to the Open Charge Map API to retrieve nearby chargers. No personal identifiers, device IDs, or other data accompany this request.
In production (App Store) builds, all location coordinates are redacted from logs. Even on-device system logs will not contain your precise GPS position. This exceeds GDPR and CCPA requirements for location data.
You can revoke location permission at any time via Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services. The app will display a prompt to re-enable if needed.
FuelSaver UK is built exclusively with Apple's native technologies. No third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking frameworks are integrated.
Apple's modern UI framework and native persistence layer for local caching.
Apple's mapping and location frameworks for the interactive map and distance calculations.
Apple's in-app purchase framework for the optional Tip Jar. All transactions handled by Apple.
Apple's frameworks for Siri voice commands, Shortcuts integration, and user guidance tips.
FuelSaver UK collects no personal data from anyone, making it safe for users of all ages, including children. The app is rated 4+ on the App Store with no objectionable content. No special provisions are required under COPPA or similar regulations, as there is no personal data collection to regulate.
FuelSaver UK does not create accounts, profiles, or databases of any kind. Since no personal data is collected, stored, or processed on our servers, there is no data to access, export, correct, or delete.
Your location data exists only in your device's memory while the app is in use and is not persisted to any external system. You retain complete control at all times through iOS location permission settings.
